Firefighters Battle 4-Alarm Blaze in Allston

Boston fire crews battled a four-alarm fire in Allston Monday morning. The fire was reported at 6:05 a.m. at 79 Brighton Avenue. According to the Boston Fire Department’s official Twitter account, the building appears to have been unoccupied at the time of the fire. Some of the windows on the first floor were boarded up. No injuries were reported.
Boston Fire Chief Mike Ruggere estimated damage could amount to nearly $750,000, and said the cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.
