BU News Service, BUTV, WTBU Win AP Awards

By BU News Service Staff

Bunewservice.com, BUTV-10, and WTBU radio took top honors in online, radio and television categories in the Massachusetts/Rhode Island Associated Press awards.
BU News Service was named top college web site. WTBU radio was recognized for a feature titled “Massachusetts in Motion.” BUTV won in the breaking news videography category for “Triumph and Tragedy: Boston Marathon Bombings.” In the public affairs category, AP recognized Pamoja Together, a project that connects BU students with students in Kenya to tell stories about the impact of foreign aid from the recipients’ point of view.

In the professional categories, WBUR radio won awards in multiple categories, including best newscast and best web site, as well as for their coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Bunewservice.org took home two Online News Association awards last fall for its coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings.
