Las Vegas — The show floors at CES are always jam-packed with dazzling booths and displays, but one, has brought China’s Forbidden City to Las Vegas. Based in Sichuan Province in China, Changhong shipped the eye-catching set from China.

The city theme serves as a backdrop for TVs and connected home products that Changhong has on display, showcasing Chinese design to differentiate itself from their industry competitors.

It’s the company’s fifth time at CES, and this year their display is the biggest ever. It is also their second year showing the traditional Chinese elements, including bridges and ornamental pillars that were made in China.

“You can only make these molds in China,” said Michael Arone,  a sales manager for Soya, a company that has helped  Changhong set up their display for the past five years.

The design team flew in from China with a group of 15, including designers and workers. In addition recreating traditional Chinese scenes, Changhong arranges performances which showcase traditional cloth made by Chinese artists.

“It took us about half year to prepare for the whole show, ” said Arone. He declined to disclose how much it cost to set up the display.
