At about 10:45 pm Thursday night an MIT Police Officer, Sean Collier, 26, of Somerville, was shot and killed responding to a call at Vassar and Main, said police. A short time later, MBTA Transit Police Officer Richard H. Donahue Jr., 33, was shot in a firefight. He is reported in stable condition at Mt. Auburn Hospital.
