There was plenty of excitement and energy near Boston College in Newton as students, family, and friends gathered to cheer on the runners during the 118th running of the Boston Marathon. Andre Khatchaturian reports.

Dr. Pierre D’Hemecourt came to the Jewish Community Center in Newton to talk about injury prevention for runners at the Boston Marathon. According to D’Hemecourt, who is the co-medical director of the Boston Marathon, proper foot-landing techniques and not leaning toward the hips are key ways to prevent injuries while running long distances.

The Scandinavian Cultural Center in Newton welcomed a brand new Steinway piano in its hall this month and it has turned the venue into Newton’s very own concert hall. Reporter Andre Khatchaturian went to see internationally renowned Steinway artist and Newton native Michael Lewin play the piano in its inaugural performance at the center.
