BU Establishes Scholarship in Honor of Slain Student

The trustees of Boston University have established a scholarship fund to honor the life of BU’s Lu Lingzi (GRS ’14). Board members started the fund by donating more than half a million dollars and are asking members of the extended BU family for contributions of any amount.
LU Lingzi was 23-years-old, studying for a master’s degree in statistics. Lu’s family is traveling from Shenyang, China, to Boston later this week. A statement released by the family said that their daughter’s dream was to come to America to study. “While her dream has not been realized, we want to encourage others who have Lingzi’s ambition and dreams, and want to make the world a better place, to continue moving forward.”
